Wycliffe Egginton, RI

1875 - 1951

Wycliffe Egginton was a landscape painter born in Birmingham in 1875, focusing on oil and watercolour. Father of Frank Egginton who is also a very gifted artist, and grandfather of Robert Egginton.

Wycliffe was educated in Birmingham and Wallasey and then exhibited oil and watercolour works in the Royal Academy. He also had a number of one-man shows in the Fine Art Society and public collections in the Royal Institute and Paris Salon.

Egginton lived in Devon for many years before he died in June 1951.
