Nicola Stratton Tyler ASWA

In her own words:
After completing my degree at Edinburgh university, I spent more than 20 years as a Fine Art valuer, curator and writer.
Painting is my great love, informed by years of working in the arts. I am largely inspired by the natural world around me; in particular the landscapes and seascapes of East Anglia, Scotland and North Cornwall. I am fascinated by nature and the transience of light in landscape and still life. Painting largely in oil, my style has been described as 'Contemporary Impressionism'.
I exhibit with various societies, including RWA, SWA, Pastel Society, ING Discerning Eye and Chelsea Art Society. I have been shortlisted for several Art Prizes and was awarded The Circles of Art, runner up, Artist of the Year 2022. I was elected an associate member of the Society of Women Artists in 2024.
My work is held in public institutions (including the National Trust) and many private collections, nationally and internationally. I am happy to undertake commissions.
