Nicola Stratton Tyler

In her own words:

After completing my degree at Edinburgh university, I spent more than 20 years as a Fine Art valuer. I continue to work in a freelance capacity as a valuer and curator.

My own painting is my great love and largely inspired by the natural world around me; in particular the landscapes and seascapes of East Anglia and North Cornwall. I am fascinated by natural forms, by the power of nature and the transience of light both in landscape and still life. Painting largely in oil, my style has been described as 'Contemporary Impressionism'.

I have studied and practiced fine art and sculpture for many years. I exhibit regularly with various galleries including the Mall Galleries in London. I have been shortlisted for several Art Prizes and was awarded The Circles of Art, runner up, Artist of the Year 2022.

My work is held in public institutions (including the National Trust) and many private collections, nationally and internationally. I am happy to undertake commissions.

My paintings are also available at BritishContemporary.art, Snape Maltings Gallery, Suffolk and The Watermill Gallery, Aberfeldy.
